The Eaton ELSBB-R is a red surface-mount backbox designed for compatible Wheelock Eluxa LED wall-mount notification appliances. It provides the mechanical enclosure and mounting surface required when a horn, strobe, horn strobe, or other compatible Eluxa appliance cannot be installed using a recessed electrical box.
Designed for commercial fire alarm and emergency notification installations, the ELSBB-R provides a clean finished appearance while protecting field wiring behind the notification appliance. Its red finish coordinates with red Eluxa notification devices for a professional installation.
The ELSBB-R is specifically designed for compatible Eaton Wheelock Eluxa LED wall-mount notification appliances.
The Eluxa platform includes audible and visual notification devices used in commercial fire alarm and emergency communication systems. The surface backbox provides the proper mechanical interface between the building surface and compatible wall-mounted appliances.

The ELSBB-R allows compatible notification appliances to be installed directly onto a finished wall or other approved mounting surface when recessed electrical boxes are unavailable or impractical.
Surface mounting is particularly useful for retrofit projects, concrete or masonry walls, exposed conduit installations, equipment rooms, industrial facilities, and other locations where concealed wiring cannot easily be provided.
The backbox creates space behind the notification appliance for field conductors and terminations while providing a secure mounting structure.
The ELSBB-R provides an enclosure for notification appliance field wiring and supports appropriate cable or conduit entry arrangements.
Field conductors enter the backbox and terminate at the compatible Eluxa notification appliance installed on the front of the enclosure.
Because the ELSBB-R is a passive mechanical accessory, it does not require independent power, addressing, programming, or signaling circuit configuration.
The backbox is designed for wall-mounted surface installation and should be securely fastened to the approved mounting surface before the notification appliance is installed.
