Description

The Edwards SIGA-CT2 Dual Input Module is an intelligent addressable interface designed for compatible Edwards Signature fire alarm systems. It provides two independent Class B input circuits for connecting normally open alarm, supervisory, or monitor-type dry-contact initiating devices.

The SIGA-CT2 uses Edwards Signature intelligent communication, electronic addressing, and selectable Personality Codes. Each of its two inputs can be individually identified and programmed by the compatible fire alarm control system.

Product Functions

  • Provides two intelligent monitored inputs
  • Supports two Class B input circuits
  • Monitors normally open dry contacts
  • Supports alarm applications
  • Supports supervisory applications
  • Supports monitor/status applications
  • Uses two Signature module addresses
  • Provides electronic addressing
  • Supports automatic device mapping
  • Provides four selectable Personality Codes
  • Provides onboard microprocessor processing
  • Provides self-diagnostics
  • Provides green and red status LEDs
  • Designed for compatible Signature Loop Controllers

Dual Input Operation

The SIGA-CT2 provides two independently monitored circuits:

Input 1

Input 2

Each input can supervise a separate normally open dry-contact circuit and communicate its condition to the compatible Edwards fire alarm control panel.

This allows two conventional initiating or supervisory circuits to be interfaced through a single module.

Class B Input Circuits

Both SIGA-CT2 inputs operate as:

Class B Initiating Device Circuits

Each circuit is supervised using a:

47 kΩ End-of-Line Resistor

Published specifications allow a maximum circuit distance of approximately:

4,000 ft / 1,219 m

subject to the specified wire resistance and capacitance limitations.

The SIGA-CT2 does not support two-wire smoke detectors.

Dry Contact Monitoring

The SIGA-CT2 is designed for normally open dry-contact devices.

Typical applications can include:

  • Manual pull stations
  • Waterflow switches
  • Valve supervisory switches
  • Tamper switches
  • Heat detectors with dry contacts
  • Pressure switches
  • Fans and dampers
  • Door contacts
  • Equipment status contacts

The programmed Personality Code determines how the fire alarm system responds to the monitored circuit.

Personality Codes

The SIGA-CT2 supports four primary operating personalities:

Personality 1 — Alarm, Latching

Used for normally open alarm devices.

Personality 2 — Alarm, Delayed Latching

Provides an approximately 16-second delay and is commonly used for waterflow switches.

Personality 3 — Active, Non-Latching

Used for monitor and equipment-status applications.

Personality 4 — Active, Latching

Used for supervisory and tamper-switch applications.

Two Module Addresses

The SIGA-CT2 requires:

Two Signature module addresses

This allows the compatible fire alarm control system to individually identify and process the two monitored input circuits.

The SIGA-CT1, by comparison, provides a single input and uses only one module address.

Electronic Addressing

The SIGA-CT2 uses electronic addressing rather than mechanical DIP or rotary switches.

The Signature system identifies the module through its electronic serial number and assigns its address through compatible system programming.

This eliminates mechanical address switches and supports Edwards Automatic Device Mapping.

Automatic Device Mapping

The SIGA-CT2 supports Automatic Device Mapping.

This allows compatible Edwards Signature systems to identify the module’s physical relationship to other devices on the signaling circuit, assisting with commissioning, troubleshooting, and system servicing.

LED Status Indication

The SIGA-CT2 incorporates onboard status LEDs.

Green LED: Flashes when the module is polled

Red LED: Flashes when the module is in an alarm or active condition

These indicators provide local confirmation of communication and monitored input activity.
