Description
The Edwards SIGA-SD is a commercial intelligent duct smoke detector designed for compatible Edwards Signature Series fire alarm systems. It continuously samples air moving through HVAC ductwork to detect smoke before it is distributed throughout the building, helping initiate HVAC shutdown and other programmed fire alarm functions. (facpmanuals.com )
The detector combines a Signature Series smoke detector with environmental compensation, electronic addressing, self-diagnostics, maintenance reporting, and an integral Form C alarm relay. Its low-profile SuperDuct housing simplifies installation and maintenance in commercial HVAC systems. This product is intended exclusively for commercial fire alarm installations.
Product Functions
- Detects smoke within HVAC duct systems
- Monitors supply and return air ducts
- Reports alarm conditions to the fire alarm control panel
- Activates an integral Form C auxiliary relay
- Supports HVAC shutdown
- Supports remote testing and reset
- Provides detector maintenance reporting
- Performs continuous self-diagnostics
- Stores operating history in nonvolatile memory
Electrical & System Information
The SIGA-SD operates on compatible Edwards Signature Series Signaling Line Circuits (SLC) and receives operating power directly from the Signature loop. Electronic addressing is assigned automatically by the Signature Loop Controller or through compatible programming software.
An integral Form C alarm relay is provided for HVAC shutdown or auxiliary control functions. The detector also supports compatible remote alarm indicators and remote test/reset stations for convenient maintenance.
Features
- Commercial intelligent duct smoke detector
- Signature Series communication
- Smoke sensing chamber
- Environmental compensation
- Electronic addressing
- Automatic device mapping
- Built-in self-diagnostics
- Maintenance reporting
- Nonvolatile event history
- Form C alarm relay
- Magnetic test capability
