Description
The Hochiki DCP-SOM-AI Supervised Output Module is an intelligent addressable control module designed for use with compatible Hochiki FireNET and DCP fire alarm systems. The Hochiki DCP-SOM-AI provides a supervised notification appliance circuit (NAC) capable of operating in either Class A or Class B configurations while incorporating a built-in short circuit isolator. Therefore, it delivers reliable control of horns, strobes, bells, and other notification appliances while improving signaling line circuit survivability.
Hochiki DCP-SOM-AI Module Function
The Hochiki DCP-SOM-AI is designed to supply supervised 24 VDC power to audible and visual notification devices. As a result, the module can activate and supervise notification circuits directly from the fire alarm control panel. In addition, it continuously monitors the output circuit for open and short circuit conditions to ensure reliable operation.
Class A and Class B Output Capability
The DCP-SOM-AI supports both Class A and Class B notification appliance circuit wiring configurations. Consequently, system designers can select the wiring method that best meets project requirements. Moreover, the module provides a single supervised output circuit rated for up to 2.0 Amps at 24 VDC.
Integrated Short Circuit Isolator
A key feature of the DCP-SOM-AI is its built-in SCI (Short Circuit Isolator) circuitry. Therefore, if a short circuit occurs on the signaling line circuit, the module can isolate the fault and help maintain communication with unaffected devices on the loop. Additionally, a dedicated yellow LED provides indication of isolator activation and fault conditions.
Flexible Programming Options
The module supports up to 16 different modulation patterns, multi-zone operation, and multi-state programming. As a result, notification appliance behavior can be customized for a variety of fire alarm and emergency communication applications. Furthermore, operating parameters are maintained within the module, reducing the need for constant communication with the control panel during emergency conditions.
Intelligent Addressable Communication
The Hochiki DCP-SOM-AI communicates using Hochiki’s Digital Communication Protocol (DCP). Consequently, the fire alarm control panel can individually monitor and control the module while maintaining precise device identification. Moreover, up to 127 addressable devices can be installed on a single DCP signaling loop.
Status LED Indication
The module incorporates a programmable bi-color status LED for normal operation and activation indication. As a result, technicians can easily verify module status during testing and maintenance procedures. In addition, the yellow SCI indicator provides visual fault diagnostics.
