The Siemens DB-ADPT detector/base adapter interfaces Series 11 detectors with previously installed
DB-3S bases. For Series 3 air duct detector models
AD-3P, AD-3ILP, and SA-3P, use Series 11 Air Duct
Update Kit AD-11UK, which contains both the
DB-ADPT and the required DA-304 air duct cover for
Series 11 detectors.

Installing the DB-ADPT to the DB-3S Base

• Push the adapter into the base and rotate
  clockwise to engage the electrical connections.
  The adapter will automatically stop and lock into
  place.
• To make the adapter to DB-3S interface
  tamperproof in the base, use the Model DB-LK.
• Install a Series 11 detector following the
  installation instructions included with the detector.
• NOTE: If it becomes necessary to remove the
  adapter, push the adapter up into the base while
  rotating the adapter counterclockwise. Continue
  to rotate counterclockwise until stop is reached.
  Then pull downward to disengage from the base.
  When the DB-LK lock is used, disengage the
  locking mechanism prior to removing the adapter.
