Linear Beam Detectors (Model PBA-1191) from Siemens Industry. Fire Safety offers reliable monitoring over long distances, ranging from 17 to 280 feet. Model PBA-1191 works with various types of reflectors, depending on each reflector’s installation requirements.
**Operation**
**Initial Function**
Model Linear Beam Detector includes a transmitter (IRLED) that emits an invisible infrared (IR) pulse through the transmitter lens. As the IR pulse crosses the protected area. It reaches the reflector opposite the detector and th en reflects to the detector. The receiver lens th en directs the reflected IR pulse to a silicon photodiode. The detector electronics evaluate the resulting electrical signal.
B ecause smoke particles scatter and absorb the IR pulse, this leads to an alarm condition.
**Sensitivity Settings**
Model Linear Beam Detector offers three sensitivity settings:
– Reduced
– Standard
– Increased
DIP switches S1 and S2 set the response threshold. Wh ile DIP switch S3 adjusts the transmitter intensity, strong or weak. Users can customize the sensitivity according to their specific needs.
