The Siemens PE-11T Photo/thermal Detector is a two-wire, plug-in type photoelectric smoke detector. And is compatible with Cerberus Pyrotronics PXL, SXL, and System 3 conventional systems. Regardless of the Siemens PE-11T Photo/thermal Detector contains an infra-red light-emitting and a light-sensing arranged that under normal conditions does not reach the photodiode.
In addition, the smoke enters the photo chamber, light emitted from the IR LED; this disconnects the smoke particles and received by the photodiode. Also, the signal produce the photodiode is compare to a factory set alarm threshold, and indicates an alarm. The PE-11T is reset at the control panel.
This is field cleanable by twisting out of the base, unsnapping the chamber from the outer cover, and cleaning or replacing the removable labyrinth and bug screen. Also, an optional 135°F thermal sensor is available with the PE-11T. When the optional thermal sensor is utilize, an alarm initiates in the sensor when reaches 135°F. At this point, the detector locks into alarm. To avoid nuisance alarms, do not located the PE-11T where excessive smoke concentrations exist under normal conditions, or in areas of prolonged high relative humidity where condensation occurs.
