Description
Simplex 4098-5602 offers advanced analog sensing features. They are suitable for applications where detectors connect to conventional 2-wire or 4-wire initiating device circuits (IDCs). Each detector includes an onboard microprocessor that evaluates activity in its photoelectric light scattering chamber. It then makes intelligent decisions based on the history of light scattering to determine the presence of an alarm condition.
Simplex 4098-5602 integrates photoelectric smoke detection and quick response thermistor-based heat detection technologies. This results in an intelligent detector that analyzes both types of activities and their combination to detect alarm conditions. This analog detection, based on a microprocessor, responds swiftly to conditions indicative of fast-acting, high-heat fires. This response is faster compared to relying solely on photoelectric smoke or thermal activity. Moreover, it maintains a high level of immunity to false alarms and nuisance alarms inherent to sensor operations.
Are designed to minimize false alarms. An onboard microprocessor ensures photoelectric detection with sensitivity drift compensation. It utilizes either photoelectric or photoelectric/heat trending analysis for alarm detection. Upon experiencing any alarm conditions, the detector initiates an alarm.
Simplex® heat detectors employ a thermistor-based design for rapid temperature sensing. This design accurately and consistently identifies when preset temperatures are surpassed. The thermistor tracks local ambient temperature, eliminating the delay associated with melting lead pellets or heating bimetallic elements, common in mechanical heat detectors. This provides effective heat detection suitable for various applications.
