Description

The System Sensor SCRK is a SpectrAlert Advance ceiling-mounted outdoor strobe designed to provide dependable visual emergency notification in commercial fire alarm systems. It features a red housing with FIRE marking and multiple field-selectable candela settings for flexible visual signaling.

Designed for outdoor, wet, and demanding environments, the SCRK combines rugged construction with selectable visual output and synchronized operation. The standard SCRK package includes a plastic weatherproof back box, simplifying installation in exterior and weather-exposed locations.

Visual Notification Performance

The SCRK provides selectable strobe settings of 15, 15/75, 30, 75, 95, 110, and 115 candela. This range allows installers to select the appropriate visual intensity for the protected space while using a single appliance model.

The device is part of the SpectrAlert Advance standard-candela outdoor family. A separate SCRHK high-candela model is available for applications requiring 135, 150, 177, or 185 candela output.

Weatherproof Construction

The SCRK is designed for outdoor operation with a specified temperature range of -40°F to 151°F (-40°C to 66°C). This broad operating range makes it suitable for exterior and environmentally demanding commercial installations.

The SCRK package includes a plastic weatherproof back box. System Sensor documentation notes that when replacing outdoor units, both the notification appliance and its back box should be replaced.

Installation Information

The SCRK is specifically configured for ceiling mounting. The appliance measures approximately 6.8 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches deep without the back box and approximately 7.1 inches in diameter by 4.5 inches deep when installed with the back box.

Field wiring supports approximately 12 to 18 AWG conductors. The device supports regulated 12V DC/FWR or 24V DC/FWR operation, with an operating range of 8 to 17.5V for 12V nominal systems and 16 to 33V for 24V nominal systems.
