Description

The Wheelock DSM-12/24-R is a dual synchronization module designed to synchronize compatible audible and visual notification appliances in commercial fire alarm systems. It provides synchronized Temporal Code 3 horn operation, synchronized strobe flash, and audible silence functionality while allowing visual notification appliances to continue operating after the audible devices have been silenced.

Designed for use with compatible Wheelock notification appliances, the DSM-12/24-R supports one Class A notification appliance circuit or two Class B notification appliance circuits while operating on either 12 VDC or 24 VDC systems. Its compact design makes it suitable for both new construction and retrofit fire alarm installations.

The DSM-12/24-R operates from either 12 VDC or 24 VDC regulated notification appliance circuits. It synchronizes compatible Wheelock notification appliances while allowing independent control of audible and visual outputs over a single wiring pair.

The module supports interconnection of up to twenty DSM modules with a maximum synchronization wiring distance of 1,000 feet using 18 AWG wire. Each notification appliance circuit is rated for up to 3.0 amperes.

Mounting & Design

The DSM-12/24-R mounts in a standard four and eleven sixteenths inch square electrical back box with a minimum depth of two and one eighth inches. It may be flush mounted or surface mounted depending on the installation requirements.

The compact module includes screw terminal connections for simplified field wiring and supports installation in new construction as well as retrofit projects.
