The station requires two deliberate actions to activate an alarm. The user first lifts the upper door and then pulls the alarm handle, helping reduce accidental activation.

The GSA-M278 is a single stage station constructed from durable red LEXAN with contrasting markings. An internal input module supervises the station and communicates alarm status to the fire alarm control system. The device occupies one address on the signaling line circuit.
