Description
The Edwards SIGA-ISI Intelligent ionization smoke detector is a point type detector using an ionization smoke sensor.
The sensing chamber arrangement is attach to one side of the printed circuit board (PCB). Also, an insect screen on the sensing chamber prevents excessive entry of foreign matter. An outer plastic moulding and base moulding permit the PCB and attached sensing chamber to be securely contained and form the basis of the physical construction of the detector. Besides, the outer plastic moulding permits the entry of smoke into the chamber. The base moulding contains pins, which connect with corresponding clips on the PCB and enable connection to the attached base.
In general, the Edwards SIGA-ISI Intelligent ionization smoke detector has two integral LEDs. A green LED, which flashes regularly to indicate normal quiescent state operation and a red LED which, flashes regularly when the detector is in the alarm state. When the detector enters into an alarm state, acknowledgement of the alarm state and resetting of the CIE is require to return the detector to its quiescent state.
In fact, the detector has been evaluated with the Edwards SIGA models SB, SB-4 and SIGA-IBS base assemblies. These base do not incorporate any electronic components, providing a mounting facility for the detector as well as a means of the connection between the detector and the Fire Indicator Panel.
