Description

The Edwards SIGA-MAB Intelligent Addressable Input/Output Module is a Signature Series Universal Class A/B Module designed for flexible fire alarm interface applications. Its function is determined by a downloadable personality code, allowing the module to operate with initiating device circuits, compatible two-wire smoke detector circuits, or notification appliance circuits.

The SIGA-MAB is the UIO motherboard-mounted version of the Edwards universal Class A/B module. It plugs into compatible two- or six-position UIO motherboards, while field wiring terminates on the motherboard terminal blocks.

Initiating Device Circuit

The SIGA-MAB can monitor conventional dry-contact initiating devices such as:

For Class B dry-contact applications, Edwards documentation identifies personality codes 1, 2, 3, and 4. Class A equivalents use personality codes 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Personality Code 2 provides delayed latching operation, requiring the input contact to remain closed for approximately 16 seconds before an alarm is generated, making it suitable for appropriate waterflow applications.

Two-Wire Smoke Detector Circuits

The SIGA-MAB can interface compatible conventional two-wire smoke detectors with an Edwards Signature Series system.

Class B Smoke Input: Personality Codes 13 and 14

Class A Smoke Input: Personality Codes 20 and 21.

Only smoke detectors specifically approved for use with the applicable Edwards control system should be connected.

Notification Appliance Circuit

The SIGA-MAB can also function as a notification output module.

This allows compatible externally powered horns, strobes, or audio circuits to be controlled through the addressable Signature system.

Personality Codes

The SIGA-MAB supports:
