Potter PAD100-ZM
Description
The PAD100-ZM module uses one address on an SLC Loop. W hen monitoring two Class B or one Class A circuit. The module requires and supervises a 24VDC auxiliary power connection. The 24VDC power source must b e a Potter IPA series addressable panel. Or a Potter PSN series power supply. The IDC may b e wired Class B or Class A which i s selectable by an onboard DIP switch. The PAD100-ZM employs one red LED to indicate the module’s status. In normal conditions, the LED flashes w hen the device i s b eing polled by the control panel. W hen a device i s activated, the LED will flash at a fast rate.
Application
Compatible with Potter’s IPA and AFC/ARC series addressable fire alarm control panels. The PAD100-ZM i s used to supervise a zone of conventional 2-wire smoke detectors on an Initiating Device Circuit (IDC). Capable of monitoring two (2) separate Class B or one (1) Class A circuit.
Setting the Address
Each addressable SLC device must b e assigned an address. The address i s set using the DIP switch located on the PAD100-ZM. W hen the PAD100-ZM i s used to monitor two individual Class B circuits. A single device address i s assigned. Each input i s identified as a sub-point of the module address. The address number i s assigned as “8”. The B1 input will b e “8.1” and the B2 input will b e “8.2”.
B efore connecting a device to the SLC loop, take the fo llowing precautions. To prevent potential damage to the panel or device:
1. Power to the device i s removed.
2. Field wiring i s correctly installed.
