The Simplex 4904-9173 is a non-addressable, visible-only notification appliance from the Simplex TrueAlert™ series. It is designed for code-compliant visual notification in fire or life-safety systems, offering a rugged wall-mount construction and flexible mounting options for field installation.
Specifically, this model provides a 110 candela strobe output, housed in a white enclosure with red “FIRE” lettering.
High-intensity strobe output: Rated at 110 candela, providing strong visual signal intensity suitable for code-mandated coverage in many applications.
Wall-mount versatile housing: Designed to attach to single-gang, double-gang or 4-inch square electrical boxes (standard configurations) for easy installation.
Front-accessible wiring terminals: Terminal blocks accessible from the front of the unit (18 AWG to 12 AWG) simplify wiring, inspection, and maintenance.
Rugged construction: One-piece housing (including lens) built for durability; impact and vandal resistant with tool-required cover removal.
Free-run operation: This “free-run” strobe model flashes at approximately 1 Hz (once per second) when activated.
Code-compliant: UL Listed to Standard 1971 for Visible Notification Appliances and aligns with applicable ADA, NFPA 72 and other visible-notification requirements when properly installed.
