Description
The Fike 55-045 is a compact addressable mini monitor module designed to supervise normally open contact devices in commercial fire alarm and life safety systems.
The module is designed for applications where installation space is limited. Its compact housing and pigtail wiring allow it to be installed inside a standard electrical box behind the monitored device without requiring a rigid module mounting arrangement.
The 55-045 is the non isolator version of the Fike Mini Monitor Module.
Product Functions
- Monitors one Class B initiating device circuit
- Monitors normally open alarm contacts
- Monitors normally open supervisory contacts
- Monitors supervisory and process devices
- Detects open circuit wiring conditions
- Reports device status through the signaling line circuit
- Provides visual device status indication
- Stores operating parameters in onboard nonvolatile memory
- Supports peer to peer digital communication
- Provides individual addressable point monitoring
- Supports infrared device configuration
- Provides compact installation behind field devices
Electrical & System Information
The supervised initiating device circuit provides a maximum voltage of 5.4 VDC.
Maximum initiating device circuit wiring resistance is 100 ohms.
Communication and Programming
Operating parameters are configured through the fire alarm system programming software and stored in nonvolatile memory inside the module. This onboard processing allows the module to communicate its status directly with other devices through Fike’s peer to peer digital protocol.
Device addressing can be configured using the Fike infrared configuration tool. Fike identifies the 55-051 EA-CT infrared tool for programming and testing supported devices.
Wiring Information
The 55-045 uses factory installed pigtail leads for field connections. Fike identifies the wiring as follows: red leads provide positive signaling line circuit connections, black provides negative signaling line circuit connection, purple provides the positive supervised input, and yellow provides the negative supervised input and signaling line circuit connection.
Physical and Environmental Information
The module measures approximately 1.31 inches high by 2.73 inches wide by 0.61 inches deep, making it suitable for installations where a full size monitor module would occupy too much space.
Its specified operating temperature range is 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, equivalent to 0 degrees Celsius to 49 degrees Celsius. The specified humidity range is 10 percent to 93 percent relative humidity noncondensing.
Features
The Fike 55-045 features a single Class B initiating device circuit, normally open contact monitoring, open circuit supervision, tri color LED indication, compact construction, infrared configuration capability, onboard nonvolatile memory, peer to peer digital communication, low current operation, 39 kΩ end of line supervision, flexible pigtail wiring, and commercial grade fire alarm performance.
